While we currently have no open funded positions, we are continuously formulating new proposals and consequently always interested in hearing from outstanding students and staff who are interested in joining the group

Openings for Postdoctoral Researchers and Research Associates

We seek outstanding postdoctoral researchers with a combined theoretical and experimental background in optics / photonics and/or electronic systems, hardware / software; with a Ph.D. in the physical sciences, engineering, or cognate discipline.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enjoy a dynamic environment, and enjoy working with students.

Please contact the PTLab professor Trevor Hall via email if interested.

Please note that researchers are encouraged to apply for funds to help support their research activities. The following is a short list of sources:

Openings for students

  • Are you interested in exploring the interface between fundamental physical principles and practical devices?
  • Are you interested in the systems integration of state-of-the-art devices within novel architectures?
  • Are you motivated to create technology at the frontiers of science and engineering that will contribute to the solution of urgent problems for mankind?
  • Do you want to learn about material, device and systems design, modelling & simulation; nano- and micro-fabrication methods & device integration, measurement and characterization techniques, embedded and networked systems design and implementation …and everything in between?

If you answered “yes,” you should consider joining our research group. Due to the challenging nature of the projects, our research is suited for the most highly motivated students with exceptional abilities. We have openings for graduate students (MASc, PhD levels) as well as serious 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who intend to pursue graduate studies.

Please contact the PTLab professor Trevor Hall via email if interested.

Please note that students are highly encouraged to apply for a scholarship to assist with tuition fees. Here are some sources:
